Join us as Canta Libre explores the fascinating works of the renowned composers who first charted the Harp Quintet Repertoire in France. Mystifying and endearing, while always utterly French, these composers created this music often - and literally, at sea, circumnavigating the globe while serving in the French Navy. The repertoire bore an association with another movement in the arts - the wild beauty of the Fauvist Art Movement (around 1900- 1910) whose leaders include Henri Matisse. Featured new works for Canta Libre will be by Jean Cras, Ginastera, Villa-Libos, Piazzolla, Handel and Grandjany, Ravel and Debussy.
